The most important thing on this page: the assistant you are chatting with was built and published by somebody else. They are responsible for it and for everything it says. This licence covers our platform and the interface only.
1. What this licence covers, and how you accept it
This licence covers the DoThat platform and the interface through which you reach it — nothing else. You accept it by using that interface, whether or not you have an account; if you do not accept it, do not use it. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free licence to use the platform for the purpose the publisher of a Goblin has made it available to you for — submitting prompts, receiving answers, and whatever else that Goblin is there to do — and for no other purpose. That licence is subject to this licence, to the publisher's own terms, and to any restriction the publisher or we tell you about. It is a licence to use a hosted service: no software is delivered to you to install, copy or distribute. If you are a member of a DoThat customer account, your organisation's agreement with us also applies to you, and this licence ends when that agreement does.
2. The Goblin belongs to its publisher, not to us
This licence does not cover any Goblin. A Goblin — its instructions, its configuration, the data it was given, everything it says, and any product or service offered through it — is made available by the DoThat customer that published it, not by us. We provide the platform the Goblin runs on. We do not build, review, endorse or control it, and we give you no warranty about it. That publisher alone is responsible for it, and any claim, complaint or remedy you have in respect of the Goblin, its answers, or what the publisher offers through it lies against the publisher and not against DoThat. Your use of that Goblin is governed by the publisher's own terms of use and privacy notice, which the publisher is required to show you before you start. Where DoThat itself is the publisher — the assistant on our own site — our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to that Goblin.
3. AI answers, and what you should not rely on
Answers are generated by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable, even when they sound confident, and factual assertions in them should not be relied upon without independently checking their accuracy. Nothing an assistant says is professional advice from DoThat. Do not rely on an answer for a legal, financial, medical or other important decision without independent verification and independent professional advice. We do not guarantee that the platform will be free of errors, secure or available at all times, or that any information it carries is accurate.
4. What you may not do
You may not: upload anything you do not have the rights to upload, or anything unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, explicit or otherwise harmful; copy, adapt, modify, translate or create derivative works from the platform; remove or alter any notice on it; publish, sell, loan, transfer, sub-licence or otherwise make it available to anyone else; decompile or reverse-engineer it or attempt to derive its source; circumvent any security feature, safety screening, access control or rate limit; interfere with the platform's operation or with anyone else's use of it; try to extract a Goblin's instructions, configuration or training data, or push a Goblin to act outside what it is there for or to produce answers that would breach this licence; use bots, scrapers or other automated means to reach the platform, except through an interface we or the publisher provide for that purpose; let anyone else use your access, or use the platform on behalf of anyone who is not permitted to use it; impersonate, harass, threaten or endanger anyone, or send spam or unsolicited commercial content through it; share your account credentials, which you must keep confidential and tell us about immediately if they are misused; or use the platform for any purpose it was not designed for, including anything illegal or fraudulent. You must also keep to the usage policies of the AI providers whose models power the platform — Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy and Anthropic's Usage Policy — which form part of this licence. Where a publisher has turned on a guard against abuse, an assistant can stop answering a browser whose messages keep being refused by safety screening.
5. Our rights
DoThat, its software, its interfaces and its brand remain ours. Nothing here transfers ownership of anything we make, and feedback you send us we may use freely without obligation to you. We claim no ownership of what you put into an assistant or of the answers generated for you: as between you and the publisher, those belong to you and the publisher on the publisher's terms — not to us. You do give us permission to host, store, process and transmit what you submit, as far as we need to in order to run the platform for the publisher.
6. Your personal data
Personal data you put into an assistant is handled by that assistant's publisher as the controller, and by us as that publisher's processor under our agreement with them. The publisher's own privacy notice explains what the publisher does with it. Where DoThat is the publisher — the assistant on our own site — or where you contact us directly, our own Privacy Policy applies. We do not use what you submit to an assistant, or the answers it gives you, to train our own or anybody else's AI models.
7. Liability, and your statutory rights
We make the platform available to you at no charge and provide it as it is. We are not liable to you for any Goblin, its answers, or any decision made or action taken in reliance on them — those are the publisher's responsibility. If you are using the platform in the course of a business, then to the fullest extent permitted by law our total liability to you in connection with the platform and this licence is limited in aggregate to £100, and we are not liable for loss of profit, business, revenue, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss. If you are a consumer, that cap does not apply to you: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this licence or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses. You are responsible for your own precautions against malware and interference. These limits apply to the platform only: they do not affect any right or remedy you have against the publisher in respect of a Goblin, its answers, or the product or service the publisher offers through it, which are the publisher's sole responsibility. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, and fraud — and if you are a consumer, nothing in this licence affects your non-excludable statutory rights.
8. Ending it, and how this fits with the Terms of Service
You may stop using the platform at any time. We or the publisher may end or suspend your access immediately and without notice if you breach this licence or the publisher's own terms — or if we reasonably suspect you are about to — or if we or the publisher reasonably believe your use puts the platform, the people using it, or our relationships with the AI providers whose models we run at risk. Your access also ends if the publisher's own agreement with us ends, or if the publisher withdraws the Goblin. When it ends you must stop using the platform; you are responsible for taking out anything you want to keep, and we are not liable for what is lost when access ends. Ending it does not affect anything either of us had already become entitled to or obliged to do, and the parts of this licence meant to outlast it carry on. The Terms of Service cover the wider relationship — accounts, plans, payment, warranties and liability — and where the two say different things about the same subject, the Terms of Service govern. Both should be read together, and this licence is governed by the law of England and Wales.
