Cookie Policy

These keep you signed in and the site working: your session and refresh tokens, the record of your cookie choice itself, and the security protections in front of the service. One more is set only on the chat page of a Goblin whose operator has turned on a guard against abuse: a random identifier for your browser, used for nothing but recognising a browser that has repeatedly been refused, so that Goblin can stop answering it. It carries nothing about you, it is set only where that guard is switched on, and the only record that ever holds it is the block itself, which is deleted when the block ends. None of these carry advertising identifiers or are used to profile you. They cannot be switched off, because without them you cannot sign in or stay signed in — so we rely on the legitimate need to provide a service you asked for, not on consent.

Google Analytics, used to understand which pages people reach, where they get stuck, and what is broken. Nothing here runs until you turn it on: if you have not made a choice, or you chose to reject, no analytics cookie is set and no event is sent.

Measures whether an advert or campaign led someone to DoThat. Like analytics, it is off unless you switch it on, and switching it off stops it.

Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page. It reopens the same panel you saw on your first visit, with your current choices, and takes effect immediately. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving — one link, one switch — because that is what UK GDPR and PECR require. You can also clear cookies in your browser; you will then be asked again on your next visit.

When you chat with a Goblin someone has deployed, the chat page uses only the strictly necessary cookies described above — including, where that organisation has turned on a guard against abuse, the browser identifier named in section 1. The organisation operating that Goblin does not get to add its own cookies to our pages. If you reached the chat from that organisation's own website, that site's cookie notice covers what it set before you arrived.
